Proto SCS Installation

Proto SCS Installation

Installing an SCS clamp system isn't as scary as it seems.

Installing a Standard Compression System (SCS) clamp can be tricky if no one has shown you how to do it right. Even after you get your SCS installed, it can be challenging to get it locked down just right. When dealing with an SCS, the first and most important precaution you should keep in mind is to not let anyone that you don't trust mess with it. Often times, someone might be trying to help when they think they know what they are doing and they might accidentally wreck your $80 clamp. I don't let anyone else work on my kid's scooters not because I don't trust them, but because if I screw it up, then I have to pay for it. If someone else breaks a part, I don't want to deal with that awkward interaction of who has to pay for it.

Creative Filming with Interesting Angles

Creative Filming with Interesting Angles

Use creative angles and filming techniques to stand out in the crowd.

Until your scooter kid can throw double back flips with Dakota Schuetz and 1080s with Tyler Bonner, he's going to need a way to stand out in videos, so why not help him out with some creative filmmaking? This article and the accompanying video will outline some examples of how to use creative camera angles to make more interesting videos.

CANCELED: 2011 NW Scoot Christmas Classic Competition

CANCELED: NW Scoot Christmas Classic Competition

The NW Scoot Christmas Classic, sponsored by Phoenix Pro Scooters, originally scheduled for Saturday, December 17th, 2011, has been canceled due to the uncertain future of Skate Barn.

The following is a joint press release from NW Scoot and ScooterDad regarding the 2011 NW Scoot Christmas Classic:

We must regrettably announce that we have been forced to cancel the NW Scoot Christmas Classic originally scheduled for Saturday, December 17th, 2011 at Skate Barn in Renton, WA.

Rumors have been swirling about the possibility of Skate Barn closing due to complications surrounding the lease of the building between the new buyer and the landlord. While we were hearing the rumors as well, we also kept hearing from the current owners of Skate Barn that arrangements had been made to ensure that the Christmas Classic would be good to go with the new owner. We chose not to further spread uncertain rumors by making any announcements since we were being told that our event date was secure.
