Answer:

You can't run HIC with standard diameter bars. It's impossible. They are the same diameter (or close), so one won't fit inside the other. However, IHC is a lot like HIC for standard diameter bars. You'll need a tapered IHC fork to do this.

I am going to change my scooter set up by adding new parts. The only problem is I have HIC compression and I want to put on Envy Reaper v2 bars. But in the description of the product, it says they will not be able to fit HIC compression. I am presuming I have to change the compression system if I want the bars. I have a Grit Elite complete scooter but I don’t know what parts I need to replace such as the
• Headset
• Fork
• Clamp
• Deck
If you know the answer to my problem that would be really appreciated.

Thankyou for taking the time to read my letter
Yours Sincerely Hans

Hans,

If you want to run Envy Reaper bars, you have 3 options:

  • ICS with an ICS-compatible fork and oversized clamp; you may have to install a starnut in the bars (I can't remember off the top of my head if they come with one)
  • SCS with a full-sized (not baby) SCS clamp; you'll have to cut the slit off your new Reaper ars
  • IHC with an oversized clamp and a tapered IHC fork

It looks like the Grit Elite comes with what they call "iHIC" or "Mini HIC," which I believe is the same thing as IHC, so you may already have a tapered fork. If that's the case, then you just need Reaper bars and an oversized clamp (because aluminum bars are thicker than steel). IHC is definitely the way to go because it's much lighter than SCS and it's not a pain in the butt like ICS.
