Start saving your allowance now, boys and girls! Woodward's Scooter Camp for 2012 has been announced! For $450, you get to ride with the pros at Woodward West in Tehachapi, CA for 4 days of scooter-only fun!

If you've never been to Woodward, I highly recommend it. We took Paxton last year and it was worth every penny. Woodward has a foam pit, a resi-pad, and some of the best facilities you can find for freestyle sports. The staff members are friendly and helpful and the location is remote and secure. Paxton had a great time last year and he's wanted to go back ever since. We will definitely be taking him back in 2012.

If you're an anxious parent, fear not. We were nervous about leaving Paxton at a camp for 4 days, but everything went great. My wife and I even got a mini-vacation out of it since we had to fly him down there. We were able to see Tehachapi, Bakersfield, and Santa Clarita where we spent a day at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Woodward also needs parent volunteers for the weekend to help in the cabins and throughout the camp, so contact them at the website listed below if you'd like to be part of the team for the weekend. I believe there was a price break for parents who volunteered.

Also, you can stay in the lodge at Woodward for the weekend, but I highly recommend staying at one of the nicer hotels 20 minutes away in Tehachapi. You won't have much to do at the camp if you aren't volunteering and I remember them telling us that services shut down pretty early in the evening at the lodge.

I'm sure more information will be announced later, such as which pros will be attending, so check back later. This event only happens once a year so don't miss your opportunity to ride one of the best facilities in the world. Your kid will never forget this experience!
